About David

David began his musical adventure at the age of twelve by playing drums in his church, he played with numerous church-based groups and choirs throughout Southeast Michigan, Ohio, Indiana and Illinois. Along with playing drums he began to learn how to set up and run the live sound using various microphones, and analog mixing consoles. David began playing drums in various local indie bands at the age of sixteen and recorded with a few of these bands in an analog studio setting. He loved not only playing drums but learning what it took to get a great drum sound in the mix. David kept his focus on his drumming by playing with various artist and studying with some of the best private teachers in Michigan to hone his drumming ability. It wasn’t until he saw a drum clinic with Dave Weckl who talked about his live sound and his studio and how he was controlling it all, that David realized he could expand his marketability if he could learn how to mix his own drums and possibly work as a mixing engineer.

 

David had a setback in his musical endeavors when he enlisted in the US Army in 2008 when he took a hiatus from music until 2015 when he began to play drums and express his desire to become a producer. It wasn’t until he began to re-establish himself as a drummer, that in 2019 he enrolled at Los Angeles Film and Music in the Associates in Science of Music Production Degree program. In early 2020 David had a band reach out who wanted him to play drums, Produce, Mix, Master and Distribute an entire twelve song album, which would be David’s full project as a Producer. The band has at this point released Six singles and has well over 5,000 streams world wide,  on various streaming services in less than two months. David with his musical upbringing is pushing for an analog sound and dynamic feel in his releases, with a heavy punch from the drums and bass and clarity in the vocals. David is also working with an international live stream audio team, setting up drum microphones, band mixes for the various live stream concerts, in addition to continuing to record drums for independent artists as well as recording and producing bands in his studio. David, who graduated from the Los Angeles Film and Music School  with his Associates in Science of Music Production Degree in March 2021, where he maintained and graduated with a 3.9 GPA.

 

David also graduated Berklee School of Music Online, Music Production using Pro Tools Certificate program, April 2022. He has his studio located in Fraser, MI where he records drum tracks, mixes and producing on a hybrid recording set up. David  also works as an intern Rustbelt Studio, located in Royal Oak, MI, which is owned and operated by Al Sutton, who has had success with artists such as Greta Van Fleet, Kid Rock, Bob Seger to name a few, David is working with the numerous engineers and producers at Rustbelt, adding real world experience to his ever growing resume.
